Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some help
from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own
blog? I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I'm thinking about creating my own but I'm not sure where to begin. Do you have any points or suggestions? Many thanks

Smart apps with the right hooks to personal information management APIs (contact, calendars), location, routing and forward looking profiling would be so cool and basically a godsend in today's time-starved world.

DIY app builders or agencies which would provide the above help provide to businesses as a ancillary service would be definitely valued!

Excellent article, Warren! It truly aligns with how social media and mobile apps are changing the business experience and expectations. We believe there are several business apps that work in silos today and as the technology converges and more services talk to each other, there will be a much more unified story.

At Techark Solutions, few of our apps like RedMinder, Social Mints and ..honey, I got it! can relate to The Dry Cleaning Problem you mentioned.
- Social Mints is an award-winning app that was featured by Microsoft at MWC 2012 and lets a business monitor social media for sentimental analysis from a mobile device.
- RedMinder lets you just shake your phone to create a one-time reminder.
- honey, I got it! is all about updated checklists and how to organize and be productive.

As you can see, these apps truly relate to the example you provided. This next direction will be fascinating to watch. As always, we look forward to your next article.

Hi Warren
A good take on Pinterest. However, there is one thing that is not being discussed. Ninety percent of the content on the internet is made by one percent of the people who are active creators, ten percent are casual creators contributing some of the time, and the rest are what have been called lurkers. I call them the audience. Pinterest enables the audience to become creators through re-pinning which is curating. Sharing is different than curating because the user takes on ownership. My pinboard of" lamps" or "wedding" becomes something I created and a sense of personal ownership and extends my social reach. It is not the act of visual stimulation that excites women it is the ownership of things that they like. There is also a direct line to consumerism in this. There is a retail phenomenon that states if you hold something for more than 30 seconds you are more likely to buy it. If you pin something to your "dream living room" I suspect you will be more likely to buy it as well. Pinterest acts as a mood board and simple organizational platform for ideas. There is a useful component of creation that can be a lesson for businesses. The question is not "How can we be more like Pinterest" but "What can we create that is useful and appealing to our base audience."

Tom

I think that once we know about targeting and niches, we tend to overthink "sticking to the niche"

Some successful marketers get very focused and for a while do well that way. In the long run, they are faced with the same dilemma. we all like variety and it's spice.

Right now, I'm with you.. Time to refocus and work on priorities.. At least for the next 15 minutes :)
